History and Origin
Originally found widely throughout the Mediterranean, spearmint essential oil is pale green to clear in color and very watery. Spearmint essential oil is derived via steam distillation from the flowering tops of this hardy, perennial herb.
Extremely gentle and fabulously invigorating, spearmint essential oil can actually be used as an antiseptic, stimulant, purifier and against nausea and flatulence.
For aromatherapy use. Also as a mist to deodorize or promote a sense of well-being. Topically (with dilution) to treat skin disorders or respiratory ailments and even a drop in a cup of tea to help with an unsettled tummy.
Spearmint essential oil is great when combined with eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary.
