Origin and Composition
Ylang ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 meters (60 feet) high with large, delicate, fragrant pink, mauve or yellow flowers and is cultivated in Indonesia and Africa. The name means ‘flower of flowers’. Organic ylang ylang essential oil is extracted from the freshly picked flowers by water or steam distillation.
Other Uses Of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
Sensual and exotic, essential oil from the flowers has aphrodisiac qualities and is indicated as useful for treating impotence and frigidity.
This pure essential oil is certified 100% organic and is grown using a method and in an environment that has been confirmed to be free of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and herbicidal residues for a period of three consecutive years (and maintains all appropriate certifications which are available upon request).
Suggested Use
For aromatherapy use. Also, as a mist to calm the spirit and improve morale. Topically (with dilution) in a lotion or oil to treat skin problems, enhance the mood and stimulate the nervous system.
Although most essential oils blend well together, ylang-ylang oil blends particularly well with grapefruit, lavender and sandalwood.
