Grapefruit is one of the most attractive, sweet-smelling and commonly used of all the essential oils and prized for the ability to purify, enhance health and uplift the spirit. Origin and Composition

Derived from the fruits’ peel via cold press distillation, the aroma of grapefruit essential oil is pungent, fruity and uplifting. Originally from Asia, but now found all over the world, grapefruit essential oil has a sharp, refreshing smell and varies from clear to pale yellow in color with a watery viscosity.

Grapefruit essential oil may also affect biological factors such as heart rate, blood pressure and immune function and is effective at detoxification and against muscle fatigue.

Grapefruit essential oil is great when combined with lavender, rose geranium or eucalyptus.
