Origin and Composition
Once discovered in ancient Egyptian tombs, peppermint has been cultivated and used in traditions, medicine and cooking for millennia. Peppermint essential oil is extracted via steam distillation from the entire plant and has a clear, watery consistency.
Extremely useful to relieve stress, increase focus and to refresh and sharpen the mind, peppermint essential oil is also a digestive stimulant and can be used to treat muscle aches and pains. The fresh, strong and sharp minty smell is particularly good at stimulating productivity, increasing the appetite, deodorizing and refreshing as well as combating tension headaches.
For aromatherapy use. Also as a mist to deodorize, purify and inspire the mind. Topically (with dilution) in a lotion or oil to treat skin disorders or to invigorate the senses.
Peppermint essential oil is great when combined with benzoin, lavender, eucalyptus, and rosemary.
