How It Works
The Raindrop uses Bernoulli’s Principle to naturally atomize pure essential oil without heat or water. A whisper-quiet, ultra-durable micro air pump sends pressurized air across a specially designed nozzle inside the glass reservoir, breaking essential oil into an ultra-fine mist of micro-particles. Care & Maintenance
Keeping your Raindrop in peak condition is simple:
- Weekly cleaning: Remove the glass reservoir and rinse with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl). Use the included pipette to flush the internal tubes.
- Switching oils: Run a few drops of rubbing alcohol through the reservoir before adding a new oil to prevent scent mixing.
- Thick oils: Oils like vetiver, patchouli, myrrh, and frankincense can clog micro-tubes. Dilute with Augeo Clean Multi before use, or clean immediately after.
- Storage: If not using for more than a week, clean the reservoir before storing.
Raindrop FAQ
How long does a bottle of essential oil last in the Raindrop?
On the LOW setting, 15 to 30 drops give about one to two hours of diffusion, so a 10 ml bottle lasts roughly 7 to 13 hours of running time. The built-in 2 minutes on, 1 minute off cycle and the 120 minute auto-shutoff stretch it further.
How big a room can the Raindrop scent?
Up to 800+ sq ft (80 sqm). Turn the intensity dial down for a bedroom or office and up for an open living area.
Is the Raindrop loud?
No. The micro air pump makes a gentle hum, under 30 dB, which most people describe as near silent. Placing it on a soft surface makes it quieter still.
What is the difference between the Raindrop and the Raindrop Smart?
Same design and the same nebulizing performance. This Raindrop plugs into the wall and is controlled with a dial on the base. The Raindrop Smart adds Bluetooth app control for scheduling and intensity, and is available with a rechargeable battery for 16 to 20 hours of cordless use.
Which oils can I use?
Any 100% pure essential oil or blend. Thick oils such as vetiver, patchouli, myrrh and frankincense should be thinned with Augeo Clean Multi first. Do not use carrier oils, water or synthetic fragrance oils.
How do I clean it?
Once a week, rinse the glass reservoir with rubbing alcohol and flush the tubes with the included pipette. Run a few drops of alcohol through it whenever you switch oils.

Does a Nebulizing Diffuser® use water or heat?
No. A Nebulizing Diffuser® uses a gentle stream of air to turn pure essential oil into a fine aroma, so there is no water tank to fill and no heat to change the oil. You get the full scent of the oil, undiluted.
How much oil does it use?
About 20 to 25 drops in the glass reservoir is enough in most cases, and 15 to 30 drops gives roughly 1 to 2 hours of diffusion on the low setting. Keep the oil level at least 1/4 inch below the top of the two small glass tubes at the bottom of the reservoir.
Which oils can I use?
Use 100% pure essential oils. Do not use fragrance oils, oils with carrier oils such as jojoba, almond or grapeseed, or water. Thicker oils such as sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, frankincense, myrrh, benzoin and cypress are best blended with lighter oils, and the diffuser should be cleaned right after using them.
How do I clean it?
Clean the glass reservoir at least once a week. Pour in 6 to 8 ml of 70% or stronger isopropyl alcohol, seal the opening and swirl for about 30 seconds, then use the included pipette to push alcohol through the small tubes. Let it air dry before adding oil again.
How big a room does it cover?
Our classic Nebulizing Diffusers® are made for rooms up to about 800 sq ft (80 sqm). The intensity is adjustable, so you can keep it subtle in a bedroom or turn it up in an open living space.
Will it work outside the US?
Yes. The power adapter is universal (110V to 220V), so it works in most countries with the right plug adapter.

My previous nebulizer was a lower-cost product from the local department store that began to lose its effectiveness by dispersing primarily water vapor rather than the essential oil — which only seemed to be added to the vapor for about 10-15 minutes during a multi-hour setting. After researching through Amazon, and seeing that this product was included in a New York Times article for best current nebulizers, I decided to try it. The Raindrop was a significant improvement from the previous product because essential oils are evenly distributed through the air for the entire time that you have the nebulizer active until the oils are depleted. I keep the power setting at 10 oclock, and this seems to adequately disperse the essential oils. I have tried Eucalyptus and Signature Blend from Organic Aromas, and both products were of very good quality and appreciated. The one-week of usage cleanup was easy, and simply involved putting a small amount of isopropyl through the dispersion system for 10-15 minutes. Recommending this product!

The device is amazing, I tried other pure oil diffusers and wont mention brands, however, Raindrop releases a nice mist that really gives a nice scent in the room. The biggest advantage for me is that it does not require water, so no water vapor of any form is released (I live in a coastal city and have enough humidity all over). The only comment I have, is the scent is more or less limited to the area the device is in, which is maybe 200 to 250 sqr ft, which for me is what I was aiming for, other than that, I do recommend this device for whomever really wants to have a nice, mild scent that that is very noticeable.

The nebulizing diffuser is beautifully made. I did not care for the oil that came with it, but that is a personal preference. It takes a bit of adjusting to get the amount of oil just right, since the output is much more potent than you would receive from a standard diffuser.

I had a young living nebulizer years ago but got rid of it because it was soooo loud. This one is awesome in so many ways. If you want your house to smell like the purest essence of your oils, use a nebulizer! My other water based diffusers are nice too but always loose the scent of the oils and don’t smell nearly as strong as my raindrop. Great company too!

This nebulizer is without a doubt the quietest and cutest compared to other diffusers that I’ve owned, and scents my entire apartment as opposed to just one room. However, I wasn’t expecting the box that it was shipped in to have a sheet stating the actual value of the product. The sheet was stapled to the outside of the box and was mostly in Mandarin (their products are made in Taiwan). It said right on it that the value is $17.32 USD. Yikes… I know a profit has to be made, but that means I paid more than five times as much as its supposed value. I registered the product for the one year warranty immediately, but feel as though the warranty should be longer. Of course, way more times than not, customers don’t know how much the products they buy are actually made for. Nonetheless, I think a five year warranty would be only fair considering the investment that is being made.

I really love this nebulizing diffuser. It is SO powerful compared to diffusers that use water. I love that it can just fill up a room/most of my apartment. The noise is somewhat noticeable – a gentle purring – but I don’t mind it so much! I only hear it when I’m going to sleep and it’s silent in the room otherwise, the noise fades into the background.
About four months after I had purchased my Raindrop diffuser, it had stopped working all of a sudden. I’m still not 100% sure where to attribute the problem to but I think it’s likely it could have been due to me not cleaning it properly (be sure to let it dry ALL THE WAY before putting it back in, etc.). I emailed the company and they were kind enough to send me a new diffuser free of charge and referred me to more detailed cleaning instructions. I was really impressed with their customer service which inspired me to come over here and do a review!
Overall, this diffuser is incredible quality and even on the off chance that something goes wrong or gets broken, the company is awesome at helping you out. So, if you’ve been thinking about taking the leap and are an essential oils enthusiast, I’d say just go for it!

We originally ordered the diffuser with lavender to calm our dog down during the 4th of July but we later learned that us humans enjoy it as well. The lavender relaxes the whole family, so needless to say this is money well spent! Some of my favorite features are the 2 hour auto shut off, variable disbursement, and the fact that it runs in cycles – off for two minutes on for one. When I am using this I can smell the essential oil throughout my entire two bedroom apartment! My other water diffusers never made much scent and I couldn’t smell them even a few feet away. But with this nebulizer the scent is strong and lasts a long time even after the unit is turned off. I feel you really get a better sense of the scent and properties of the essential oils that I never had with my water diffusers. There is a knob to control how much scent is produced and I normally keep it in the middle as it can be too much if you are in a smaller room when it is turned all the way up. I like the color changing light and normally keep it turned on but love that there is the option to turn it off if I don’t want the light. Another amazing feature is how easy to clean this is! Just swish a little alcohol around in the base of the glass and dump it out. Easy, quick, and less mess. The glass pieces are made of thin glass but seem pretty sturdy. I have even knocked the one glass piece off a table top and it clinked on the floor but didn’t break. Of course its best to be careful with glass anyway. Lastly I think the usage cycle of 2 minutes on 1 minute off is quite nice. It isn’t necessary to be on all the time and saves some of the oil that would otherwise be used up. It also has an auto shutoff after two hours to avoid the pump from breaking. However I never know if it is off or not since the lights don’t turn off so I have to watch it for a while to make sure it is turned off and then I turn the knob to off. Honestly one of my favorite purchases. I use it almost everyday. I love trying new essential oils blends and am so excited knowing I will be smelling it all day with my new nebulizer. Never going back to a water diffuser again!

The glass pieces are made of thin glass but seem pretty sturdy. I have even knocked the one glass piece off a table top and it clinked on the floor but didn’t break. Of course its best to be careful with glass anyway.
Lastly I think the usage cycle of 2 minutes on 1 minute off is quite nice. It isn’t necessary to be on all the time and saves some of the oil that would otherwise be used up. It also has an auto shutoff after two hours to avoid the pump from breaking. However I never know if it is off or not since the lights don’t turn off so I have to watch it for a while to make sure it is turned off and then I turn the knob to off.
Honestly one of my favorite purchases. I use it almost everyday. I love trying new essential oils blends and am so excited knowing I will be smelling it all day with my new nebulizer.
Never going back to a water diffuser again!

This one really works, right after you turn it on you really can smell the fragrance of essential oil, it will spread about 600-800 sq ft. And the good thing is it automatically shut off after 2 hrs. Highly recommend, don’t use diffuser that mix essential oil and water, i had three of them they don’t work, i get rid of them. This one from organic aromas is the best.

The cap doesn’t seal the glass reservoir perfectly so mist does escape from places other than the vent, but it doesn’t ruin the functionality of the diffuser and is still a stunning piece. The strongest setting isn’t loud or distracting just a mild white noise. Overall my friend is very pleased with the item so long as it last for years to come. The Raindrop has many wonderful qualities. When it’s described as being quiet it is exactly that. It’s on a table next to my bed about 2 feet from my head and I hear absolutely nothing from the Raindrop. This nebulizer diffuses oil well, it’s beautiful looking (I bought black), the glass is elegant, it’s easy to use, and easy to clean. I have mixed feelings about the changing lights and would like to be able to turn them off sometimes, however, they are softer than my diffuser and are peaceful in a dark bedroom. I do wonder if running a powerful nebulizer for too long is good for the body so I run it for about 30 minutes before sleep, shut it off before the auto shut-off and then turn on my water diffuser to continue help with sleep. If I wake up in the night I turn the Raindrop back on to help me get back to sleep. Overall, I love the Raindrop. I highly recommend it and would purchase it again.

I ordered this and began using it right away. I love the looks, it is all organic (glass and wood) and it diffuses the oils beautifully. The problem is that I did the quick cleanups every couple of days with the alcohol and no problem. after about 2-3 weeks I decided to do a thorough clean and followed the instructions of immersing the glass in hot water with a drop of soap for 30 min. After the clean up the diffuser stopped working! I had ordered 3 more units for gifts because I loved it so much before this, so I tried the glass dispenser from another unit and it worked fine. It appears that there is trapped water in the micro tube, so we also tried adding a bit of alcohol to the tube hoping to dry the micro tubes. Tried also drying the glass upside down for a few days with no luck. No good now and I can’t get a hold of anyone on the phone. Thinking about returning the other 3 units as well because I don’t want this happening to my gift recipients. I would love to update this review with a positive result from the company, but for now this is what it is.
