A Natural Face Wash Just For You
The skin is said to be the biggest organ in the human body. It serves as a protective barrier. From head to toe, our skin is the first thing that gets direct contact with the things around us.
Skin Hygiene
As the skin protects our body from various stimuli, it remains vulnerable to infectious agents. That is why hygiene is important. Keeping our skin clean reduces the risk of transmitting infections.
Our skin is prone to build-up bacteria as we go about our daily lives. From what we touch and the people we interact with, we get various forms of bacteria. Leaving the skin unclean will result in infections from dead cells and dirt. The skin requires moisture and natural oils for it to serve its purpose properly. One can achieve this with proper hygiene.
The face is one of the parts of the body that is highly exposed to various bacteria from frequent touching with our hands. That is why one needs to keep it clean and healthy. Regular facial cleansing is crucial.
- It removes the buildup of dirt, pollutants, or dead skin cells.
- It helps hydrate the skin.
- Proper facial cleansing helps clear pores, which lead to clearer skin.
- It promotes healthy skin.
- It maximizes the effects of skin care products or treatments.
- It prevents excess oil production.
Choosing the Right Face Wash
There are tons of facial cleansing products on the market. It may be hard to choose which type of product to use. Here are a few tips that can help you in making your decision:
- Choose a face wash that matches your skin type. Find out if you have oily, dry, or sensitive skin.
- Check the delivery type of the face wash. If you have dry skin, you may go for a cream-based wash. For oily skin, it would be best to use a foamy face wash.
- Use a wash that effectively removes make-up if you wear a lot of it.
- People that sweat a lot may need a product that targets clogged pores.
- If you have sensitive skin, go for a natural and gentle face wash.
- Compare products and check reviews before purchasing one.
A Natural Face Wash Alternative
If you are worried about the effects of some ingredients of face wash, you can go for a DIY. Creating your own wash can help make sure that the product you are using is suitable for your skin. It is also very easy to make.
The first thing you should do is purchase all the necessary ingredients. A foaming face wash requires the use of castile soap. It is vegetable-based that does not have animal fats or synthetic ingredients. Thus, it is safe on the skin.
To create your own blend, you will have to add the castile soap and the essential oil of your choice. You may also either use distilled water or hydrosols. Hydrosols also come from the production of essential oils. They are less concentrated, but still have many of the beneficial properties.
All you need to do is to mix all ingredients. For a foaming dispenser that is 8 ounces, you can use 2/3 cups of castile soap and 1/3 cups of hydrosol or distilled water. Then, add at least 20 drops of essential oil. You may also add a few drops of carrier oil that will properly dilute the essential oil. You can use more than one oil if you like. Stir the mixture well.
When using it, you will only need two to three pumps from the dispenser. Apply it to your wet face in small circular motions. Rinse your face well after. You can also use a toner and moisturizer after washing your face.
One bottle of foaming face wash can go a long way. It can even last for a few months. Thus, you will end up saving some bucks compared to when you buy a ready-made face wash. Additionally, you can handpick the ingredients you will use.
With a wide variety of essential oils to choose from, you have to understand the type that will provide the best benefits for your skin. Lavender is a popular essential oil because of its calming elements. It nourishes skin gently. It can also help reduce skin blemishes. If you have dry skin, you can give cedarwood or bergamot a try. Those with oily skin can use geranium or tea tree essential oil. Having a sensitive skin also requires a different skincare routine. If this is the case for you, you can try chamomile or geranium essential oil.
Skin hygiene affects a person’s health. That is why it is vital to only use the best products. But sometimes, the best product is not accessible to you. When that happens, do not lose hope. You can always try a DIY foaming face wash that will leave your skin glowing.
