There are plenty of uses out there for essential oils, ranging from helping to improve mental health to making it easier to get a good night’s sleep or even helping you lose weight. But some of the uses are often overlooked until the need arises, and could very well surprise you.
A perfect example of this is in wart removal. Warts are one of those things that you don’t’ even think about until one appears, and then getting rid of it suddenly becomes very important. While not painful, warts can appear in common places that make it uncomfortable to perform certain tasks – a wart on the finger may reduce your confidence when making that important handshake.
As such, it’s important that you take the time to fight against warts. And instead of spending a fortune on different treatments, essential oils may have the answer you’re looking for.
First, it’s worth looking at what warts are. These are small growths that appear on the skin that are caused by a virus. The virus can be spread through physical contact with contaminated objects or other warts, and often appear on the hands or feet. However, they can appear anywhere and occur when the virus makes its way into the skin. When this occurs, the virus triggers a rapid growth of cells on the exterior of the skin. This rapid growth develops into the wart.
Removing warts often involves over the counter treatments that focus on burning or freezing the growth that appears on the skin. But this only removes the main part of the growth, and can leave behind the virus. They’re also often very painful. Another option is to visit a dermatologist, who will use even stronger chemicals to burn or freeze away the wart. Of course, this is painful as well as very expensive, and when multiple warts appear it can be very cost-prohibitive. Instead, essential oils may offer a better solution for removing warts.
Using essential oils in the process of wart removal is something that takes time and dedication, just like the over the counter treatments that are commonly used. The idea is simple – certain essential oils contain antiviral properties and irritants that can work by burning off the wart and then killing the virus that causes it.
To use the oils, you’ll want to use a cotton ball soaked in the oil and held to the wart with tape or a band aid. However, while pure oil is one option, you may also want to blend a bit of apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, and essential oils to create a tincture that can help to fight the wart. The apple cider vinegar’s acids work to remove the wart itself while the essential oils combat the virus that causes it.
The key is patience and persistence. The wart won’t vanish overnight. Instead, apply the oil solution to a cotton ball and cover with a bandage or band aid twice per day – once in the morning, and once at night as you’re going to bed. Continue using it until the wart is removed.
There are a few eos that have antiviral properties that are worth giving a try. For the tincture you’ll want to use ½ teaspoon of vinegar, ½ teaspoon of coconut oil, and 2 drops of 2 to 3 of the oils below for the best results.
If you’re tired of warts, you do have natural options. The essential oils above can create a natural anti-wart tincture that can help you get rid of them for good and feel better about the way your skin looks.
