5 FAQ's for Organic Aroma Diffusers

Sometimes people ask, how do nebulizing essential oil diffusers work?

The quickest answer is by pumping air under pressure through a small micro-tube made of glass which acts as a vacuum pulling on the essential oils in a second parallel micro-tube. This action causes the essential oils to be emitted into the air in super-small micro droplets. The twin micro-tubes are located at the bottom of the glass reservoir.

Do Your Diffusers Make Noise?

Organic Aromas nebulizing essential oil diffusers are whisper quiet. With your ear placed right next to the unit you should hear a slight humming sound. Even then, the sound will be so soft it is virtually non-existent.

Where Do I Put the Essential Oil?

The essential oil goes inside the glass reservoir. It is easy to place your essential oils into your glass reservoir by using one of the two complimentary “droppers” that are included with each purchase of an Organic Aromas essential oil aromatherapy diffuser.

The droppers are 3ml in volume. One milliliter of essential oil in the glass reservoir is sufficient to diffuse enough scent to comfortably fill a room the size of 30 square meters (322 square feet) for an entire usage cycle (90 minutes). You will likely still have oil left over!

Why Are They Made of Glass and Not Plastic?

It is important to realize that while pure essential oils are 100% natural (with nothing chemical or man-made added), over time they are corrosive to plastic. You must not put essential oils in prolonged contact with anything plastic. Eventually, plastic will be dissolved and harmful, potentially carcinogenic particles from the plastic may find their way into your essential oil, making them dangerous when diffused. Always use materials made from glass to store and to diffuse essential oils.

Secondly, and equally important, is the fact that hand-blown glass is gorgeous and makes a perfect addition to your home, spa, office or elsewhere!

Is it Possible to Over Diffuse Essential Oils?

Yes, absolutely. Essential Oil Safety is very important. Essential oils are powerful and a little goes a long, long way. While each person is different, our nose should be our guide. It should be noted that therapeutic effects of essential oils are realized with even light exposure. Also, each person is different so their reaction and tolerance to even the most delightful smells will vary. Keep this in mind.

It is best and most effective to diffuse essential oils for short periods of time frequently throughout the day. Unless you have a retail shop or are at an event with people present in the room at all times, it is best to diffuse until you can smell your desired scent extremely well at any point in your room. Once this has occurred, be sure to turn down your diffuser to its lowest “volume” setting or off completely until the scent is required again.

What is the Most Important Thing to Remember When Diffusing Essential Oils?

Without a doubt, there is only one thing that can give you the best experience each and every time for years to come….keep your diffuser clean! Diffusing a bit of rubbing alcohol every 3rd day is essential! When finished with your diffuser for the day, we suggest emptying the glass reservoir, and rinsing with rubbing alcohol (90% works best!).

After one month, you should soak your diffuser glass reservoir in hot water (and a bit of mild dish washing liquid) for a minimum of 30 minutes. Without this step, no matter what you do, you will find that your essential oils diffuse less effectively over time and are likely to clog. This will also affect the quality and performance of your diffuser.
